    Babywearing

I was on a search for a pool-friendly sling today and came across this awesome link for different ways to wear/use a wrap.  Cool!

    Finley's 4 month Stats

Finley went to see Dr Sudha on Tuesday, and got 4 shots and an oral vaccine!  He took it like a champ.  He weighed in at 18 lb 2 oz, 26 1/2" tall, and head 17 1/4".  Whew.  What is he eating?

    Remembering Jennifer

On Friday I went to a very sad service for a coworker who passed away last week.  I wanted to share her eulogy.  She will live on in all of our memories.

    Jennifer Ann Pinnick

    Pinnick, Jennifer Ann
29, of Chandler, AZ, entered into the gates of heaven March 30, 2009. Jennifer was a child of God, wife, daughter, sister, registered nurse and friend. She married her high school sweetheart James and grew their lives together. Jennifer wanted to become a mother more than anything else but God chose her for His plan instead. Jennifer loved spending time with family and friends. Her calming inspirations were the sounds of a piano playing, the sight of a dolphin swimming, the crashing of the ocean waves. She also enjoyed traveling and was a certified scuba diver. Jennifer's dream to become a nurse was fulfilled even greater by the compassion she displayed to her patients. Her desire was to learn from the word of God and to strengthen her relationship with Him. Jennifer will be a guardian angel to her nephews Austin and Ethan forever. Jennifer is survived by her husband James, parents George & Jan Ornelas and her loving brother Jason Ornelas. A viewing will be held Friday April 3, 2009 from 10am-12pm and a celebration of her life will take place from 12pm-1pm at Apollo Baptist Church located at 11611 N. 51st Ave. Glendale, AZ 85304. Directly following, a final resting place service will be held at 1:30pm at Resthaven Park West located at 6290 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, AZ 85301. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society . "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. Thank you Lord for sharing Jennifer and blessing all of us with her life, Amen.

Jennifer Block's Response to Extreme Birth Article

Jennifer Block, who wrote the book "Pushed" and started to change my mind about birth practices, responded to a New York Times article entitled "Extreme Birth".  Her article is reprinted here.  CHeck it out.  It's too bad home birth is so sensationalized and dramatized.

    One Man's Trash...

My new favorite site: www.freecycle.com.  You get on a Yahoo Group (at least in Phoenix area) and then people post things they have to give away or things they want.  Everything is free, trying to keep things out of the landfill, and trying to save a little money.  IT's amazing the things you have sitting around your house that you never would have thought to offer to someone! And hopefully, I can get some of the things I'm looking for in return...
